CONSERVATORY BEFORE E CON IS INSTALLED

PREPARATION

Preparing your conservatory roof for its renovation work is the most important phase of the renovation. Although you won’t notice the preparation work when we have finished your new Econ roofing system.

WHAT DOES THE PREPARATION OF YOUR ROOF CONSIST OF ?

When preparing your roof we conduct a full survey of the outside of the conservatory roof. Using our portable scaffold system, we then seal the conservatory roof to give you a guarantee of 3 years against any roof leaks, this service is free of charge to yourselves. Once this is complete we inspect any lead flashing which could be torn or worn down and inform you of its condition. Moving onto the inside we make breathing holes in the UPVc drip caps if required to allow the roof to expand and contract in the summer months. After doing this we conduct a damage survey of the inside of the conservatory to make you aware of any existing damage. Depending on the size and design of your roof the preparation stage can take from 1 hour to 4 hours.

Insulation

To install the insulation we first install a 50mm x 25mm batten running down all legs of the conservatory roof structure, this is suitable for all designs of conservatories. We then install the insulated sheeting onto this cutting it to suit the shape of the conservatory. To ensure that the insulated sheeting works to the best of its ability we use a aluminum tape to go over all joins. This stops any cold spots in the roof.

Cladding

We then install an over cladding in a colour of your choice, most of our clients chose to pick the white finish as it keeps the room bright. However we do offer black and rosewood colours as alternatives. The cladding is then screwed to the wooden batten that was installed in the insulation phase; we cut this to your conservatory roof specifically with joins only at changes in elevations in your conservatory for the most aesthetically pleasing look. All joins are then covered in a joining strip connect all the angles together.
